MY MISSION

After a lifetime of being in relationships haphazardly (means: in a manner lacking any obvious higher principle or organization), I have realized that I cannot expect to have relationship fulfillment (romantic, with my family, with long-term friends) without coming from a place of higher principles, and without intentional practice.

Insight is not enough here. Knowing what to do, and not do is not enough. I have to do it, freshly and consciously every moment if I expect to find relationship fulfillment. This has been one of the most inspiring and empowering realizations of my life.

Having fulfilling relationships is a practice. Ongoing and never finished. If I’ve gone to the gym everyday for the last six months it means very little for my physical body for the next 6 months, I have to keep going if I want similar results.

The “Harvard Adult Development study” states that after more than 80 years of research they have determined that far and away the most important factor in human beings enjoying a fulfilled life is the presence of high quality relationships. Not 1000 relationships, not some good ones here and there, but the presence of high quality relationships. Close meaningful relationships.

I’ll say that again. The most prestigious eggheads at Harvard in the longest study that Harvard has ever done, found that the most important factor in having a fulfilled human life is close, meaningful relationships.

In some sense we’ve gone to the Moon, but we really haven’t really figured out how to do fulfilled relationships.

My mission is to help people have better connections within themselves, with significant other’s, and with their community at large.
